Hey there! My name is Jad Menkara, and I am an incoming 11th grade student from Vincent Massey Secondary School, Windsor, Ontario. I have a passion for engineering and design and have created various projects in the past like my Transhumeral Bionic Prosthesis , and my Nerf Gun w/Computer Vision I created in association with our local Hack Club. I participate in various after school clubs like Research Club, Hack Club, Computer Science Club, and Chess Club. I have played a leading role in our local Hack Club chapter and was promoted to President this May. I have many hobbies and in my free time I enjoy playing guitar, playing Tetris, and weightlifting. In the future, I hope to become a sucessful biomedical engineer and create some dope robots. 😎
Portfolio website created in Svelte, Tailwind, and Javascript. The website showcases my various achievements such as projects, awards, photos, and my resume.
Me and my friend created a novel bionic prosthesis for below the shoulder-elbow inclusive amputees. I designed a custom PCB to house the various electronics such as a Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller, a high-current buck converter, and peripheral leads for external sensors. I also CADed the entire design and 3D printed it on my home printer.
Presented here is a novel thermoelectric generator based waste heat recovery system aimed at improving overall combustion engine efficiency by reducing energy losses through heat through the use of TEG modules. By utilizing waste heat from an automobile exhaust and maintaining a temperature differential, sustained output power is possible.
I created this project for our local Hack Club chapter. It uses YOLOv8, Pyfirmata Arduino communication, 3D printing, and other engineering concepts. By tracking faces via computer-vision and a mounted camera, and rotating a nerf-gun accordingly via servo motors, we are capable of creating a device which can target faces purely through automated aiming!
